Personalised Yoga & Bodywork

in Nishiawakura

Sometimes a group class is exactly what we need. At other times, we may benefit from individual guidance, a practice adapted to a particular concern, or simply space to slow down and receive.

YOGART offers three forms of private support:

Private Yoga · Yoga Therapy · Thai Massage

Each begins with where you are and is shaped around what would feel most helpful now.

Not sure where to begin? We can start with a short conversation and help you choose the most suitable option.

Private Yoga

Individual guidance for your personal practice

Private Yoga is ideal for anyone who would like more individual attention than is possible in a group class.

The session is shaped around your experience, interests, body, and personal goals. You may want to learn the foundations of yoga, understand particular postures, improve strength or mobility, develop a home practice, or simply practise at your own pace.

Sessions may include movement, posture work, breath awareness, meditation, and relaxation.

Private Yoga may be suitable for you if you:

  • are new to yoga and would like to begin with confidence

  • want help understanding or adapting particular poses

  • prefer individual guidance or a quieter environment

  • would like to develop a sustainable home practice

  • are returning to yoga after a break

The focus begins with your practice and how you would like it to develop.

Yoga Therapy

A personalised practice for your current needs

Yoga Therapy uses the tools of yoga in a personalised and therapeutic way to support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Rather than beginning with a set sequence or a particular pose, the process begins with you: how you are feeling, what you are experiencing, and what matters most in your daily life.

A session may include gentle or adapted movement, breathwork, meditation, supported rest, body awareness, reflection, and practical lifestyle suggestions. Ayurvedic perspectives on sleep, energy, daily rhythm, digestion, and seasonal wellbeing may also be included when appropriate.

Yoga Therapy may support people experiencing:

  • stress, fatigue, or difficulty slowing down

  • muscular tension, stiffness, or physical discomfort

  • changes in mobility or confidence in movement

  • sleep or breathing difficulties

  • anxiety, emotional strain, or periods of change

  • recovery following illness, injury, or a long break from activity

  • needs that are not fully addressed within a group class

The focus begins with your current situation and the kind of support that may help you live with greater ease.

Yoga Therapy is intended to complement, not replace, appropriate medical or psychological care.

Thai Massage

Time to rest, receive, and release

Thai Massage is a fully clothed bodywork session combining rhythmic pressure, gentle movement, and supported stretches.

Unlike yoga, you do not need to actively perform or follow a sequence. The practitioner moves and supports the body while you are encouraged to rest and breathe.

The pace and pressure are adapted to your comfort and preferences. Sessions may focus on general relaxation or particular areas of tension.

Thai Massage may be suitable when you:

  • feel physically tired or tense

  • would like support without needing to actively practise

  • find it difficult to slow down or rest

  • want to reconnect with your body in a quiet, supportive setting

  • would like to complement your yoga or movement practice

The focus is on rest, receiving, and creating space in the body and mind.

Session Flow

Each session begins with a short conversation about how you are feeling, what has been happening in your life, and what kind of support would be most useful that day.

Together, we identify a clear focus for the session. Depending on your needs, the practice may include gentle movement, adapted yoga postures, breathwork, meditation, supported rest, Thai massage, or Ayurvedic lifestyle guidance.

There is no fixed sequence and nothing to perform. You are encouraged to move at your own pace, ask questions, and notice how your body responds.

At the end of the session, we take time to reflect on what you experienced. You may also receive a simple practice or suggestion to explore at home, helping the benefits of the session continue into everyday life.

Who May Benefit from These Sessions?

Each service has its own focus, but every session begins with a short conversation about how you are feeling and what kind of support would be most useful that day.

The session is then shaped according to the option you have chosen:

  • Private Yoga: individual movement and practice guidance

  • Yoga Therapy: a personalised therapeutic practice based on your current needs

  • Thai Massage: fully clothed bodywork focused on rest and release

There is nothing to perform or achieve. You are encouraged to ask questions, communicate your preferences, and move or rest at your own pace.
