New to YOGART?
Beginning yoga can sometimes feel uncertain. You may wonder whether you are flexible enough, fit enough, or able to follow the class.
At YOGART, you do not need previous experience or a particular level of fitness. Our small-group yoga and movement classes are designed to meet you where you are, with clear guidance, choices, and adaptations when needed.
We offer regular classes in Nishiawakura, along with selected classes in Tsuyama. Whether you are completely new to yoga, returning after a break, or looking for a more thoughtful way to practise, you are welcome to begin at your own pace.
Come as you are. We will help you find a suitable place to start.
You Do Not Need to Be Flexible
Yoga is not a test of flexibility, strength, or balance.
The purpose of practice is not to force your body into a particular shape, but to notice how you feel, explore movement with care, and learn what supports you.
In every class, you are welcome to choose a gentler variation, use props, pause, or rest whenever you need to. Our teachers will offer guidance, but you remain in charge of your own body and practice.
Progress may look different for each person. What matters is not how far you move, but whether the practice helps you feel more aware, steady, and at ease.
Choosing Your First Class
The best class to begin with depends on how you would like to move, what you need that day, and the pace that feels comfortable for you.
Some classes are gentle and grounding, while others are more active or focused on building strength. Each class description explains the style, level, and overall feeling of the practice.
For your first visit, we recommend choosing a beginner-friendly class or one that moves at a slower pace. You do not need to understand the different styles before booking.

Your First Class — ¥1,500
New students are welcome to join their first group class at the special trial price of ¥1,500.
Classes marked ★ are especially suitable for beginners. Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga are often comfortable places to begin, although the best choice depends on how you would like to move and how you would like to feel that day. Please check the level symbol beside each class, or contact us if you are unsure where to begin.
What to Expect
Please arrive around 10 minutes before your first class so you have time to settle in, change if needed, and speak briefly with the teacher.
At the beginning of class, the teacher may ask how you are feeling and whether there is anything they should know, such as an injury, discomfort, or concern.
During the class, you will be guided through movement, breathing, and rest at a clear and steady pace. Different options may be offered so that you can choose what feels appropriate for your body.
You are always welcome to pause, rest, or ask a question. There is no pressure to perform every pose or keep up with anyone else.
Our regular classes are 75 minutes, including time to arrive, move, breathe, and relax.
What to Bring
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and breathe easily.
We recommend bringing:

Yoga mats and props are available at the studio free of charge, so you are welcome to use ours. You may also bring your own mat if you prefer.
For the final relaxation, you may wish to bring a light sweater or an extra layer, especially during the cooler months. Blankets are also available at the studio.
Most importantly, come with a little curiosity and without any expectation of having to do everything perfectly.
